About Us

Andy, a long time resident of Seattle and the Pacific North West grew up climbing, skiing and backpacking. An avid rock climber, mountaineer, skier and AMGA certified guide, he climbed and led parties in the N. Cascades, the Canadian Rockies and the Alaskan and Alaskan Coastal ranges. Working as a carpenter, guide and part time ski instructor and logging many miles in an old V.W. van  he explored the N.W. from Smith rock to Squamish, the Boston basin, the Pickets, the Bitterroot, the Bugaboos and the Koots. He was also a volunteer with the MRA Mountain Rescue in the Mt Rainier National Park and Denali National Park in Alaska.

In 1992 at age 29 he came to El Chalten in Argentina to climb in the Fitz Roy Massif and fell in love with Patagonia. He would return several times during the next dozen years and eventually move to S.C. Bariloche with his wife Tina in March 2010. Their son Lukas Jensen Militzer was born in Bariloche April 14th 2012.

Andy continues to climb and ski when he's not fixing things in the workshop.
